Dog training? Well, lets be honest here its not really your dog I am training is it? It's you!

Whilst I am a "dog trainer" I always make a point of explaining to folks that it is really them that needs the training and not just the dog!

So I teach people how to become dog trainers themselves!

I refer to myself as a behavioural trainer. This means that I am a dog trainer who bases their techniques on dog psychology.

This way, by understanding how a dog thinks and learns the whole process becomes much easier as you can work with your dog.

Training a dog is not so difficult, however it does require a lot of patience and time to get the best results.. There is no magic wand I am afraid!

The way to teach a dog is not the same as teaching a child.... In many ways it is quite the opposite and this is often where the first mistakes are made with a new puppy being treated as baby human being!

As much as our canine friends can make great child substitutes it is very important to understand that they simply cannot think and reason like a child and thus must be taught as a dog!
